The answer to this question revolves around what you want to do with your laptop and your budget.

If you don’t require to store a large amount of data, a 512 GB SSD laptop is best for you. A 512GB SSD laptop is faster than 1TB HDD+128 GB SSD. Besides, a 512 GB SSD is a smart drive to store essential programs such as operating systems, whole Microsoft Office apps, small video games, etc.

But, if you want to store a large amount of data, a 512 GB SSD is not suitable for you. For instance, if you want to play large video games, using 512 GB SSD is not the right choice for you, since the more SSD becomes full, the less it performs. In that case, you need to use a 128 GB SSD+1TB HDD laptop. And, still, you get benefitted from the speed that 128 GB SSD provides you.

Besides, if you regularly work on media files with high resolution, I recommend you to use 128 GB SSD+1TB HDD. This combination gives you both high speed and additional storage for your large files.

On the other hand, an SSD is more expensive than an HDD laptop. The combination of SSD and HDD is also too pricey. So, I recommend you to determine your requirements. If you want to deal with lighter files, 512 GB SSD is fine even though it is costly.

If you need to access online regularly along with storing a sufficient amount of data, 1 TB HDD + 128GB SSD laptop is best for you. And, if you just want to do some office works and store a sufficient amount of data, I don’t think you need an SSD laptop. Although an HDD laptop is slower than an SSD laptop, I don’t think spending money on an SSD laptop would be feasible for you.
