What are some secrets from logo designers?
Here’s a logo presentation secret that very few designers know.
Place the logo in visual center of the canvas rather than the geometric center when presenting it.
Geometric center is the exact mathematical center point of a canvas. Whereas, the visual center is slightly above the geometric center.

The reason why visual or optical center is preferred is due to the fact that our eyes spend most of the time in the visual center. Therefore, placing the logo in the visual center would induce a calming effect and in some cases – make the logo look more appealing.
Take Twitter’s iOS splash screen for instance.
As it can be seen. The Twitter logo is placed slightly above the geometric center.
Similarly, many brands have been doing this already. There’s even a tool that lets you find the visual center of an image.
So the next time you’re presenting a logo, place it slightly above from the geometric center. It works.
