How to fix “Screen Overlay Detected” in any android device?
Whenever I want to change app permission it is showing the message “To change this permission setting, you first have to turn off the screen overlay from Settings > Apps”.
To fix “Screen overlay detected” in any Android device, you can try the following:
- Disable screen overlay permission for all apps. Go to Settings > Apps & notifications > Advanced > Special app access > Draw over other apps. Disable the permission for all apps.
- Restart your device. This will clear any temporary glitches that may be causing the problem.
- Enable screen overlay permission for the app that needs it. Go to Settings > Apps & notifications > Advanced > Special app access > Draw over other apps. Enable the permission for the app that needs it.
- Boot into safe mode. Safe mode disables all third-party apps. If the problem does not occur in safe mode, then it is likely being caused by a third-party app. To boot into safe mode, press and hold the power button until the power menu appears. Then, press and hold the power button again until “Reboot to safe mode” appears. Tap on “Reboot to safe mode” to boot into safe mode. Once you are in safe mode, try to use the app that was giving you the error. If the error does not occur in safe mode, then you can start uninstalling third-party apps one by one until you find the app that is causing the problem. To uninstall an app, go to Settings > Apps & notifications and select the app that you want to uninstall. Then, tap on the “Uninstall” button.
- Reset your device to factory settings. This is a last resort, but it will erase all of the data on your device. To reset your device to factory settings, go to Settings > System > Advanced > Reset options > Erase all data (factory reset).
