How to repair pen drive?
There are a few things you can try to repair a pen drive:
- Check for physical damage. If the pen drive is physically damaged, such as if it is cracked or broken, it may not be possible to repair it. However, if the damage is minor, you may be able to repair it yourself. For example, if the USB connector is bent, you may be able to gently bend it back into place.
- Try a different USB port. If the pen drive is not working in one USB port, try plugging it into a different USB port. Sometimes, a USB port can become damaged or dirty, which can prevent the pen drive from working properly.
- Restart your computer. Sometimes, a simple restart can fix problems with pen drives.
- Run the Windows error checking tool. The Windows error checking tool can scan for and repair errors on pen drives. To run the error checking tool, right-click on the pen drive in File Explorer and select “Properties”. Then, click on the “Tools” tab and click the “Check” button.
- Format the pen drive. Formatting the pen drive will erase all of the data on it, so be sure to back up any important files before you format it. To format the pen drive, right-click on it in File Explorer and select “Format”.
If you have tried all of the above and the pen drive is still not working, you may need to replace it.
Here are some additional tips for repairing a pen drive:
